The Holidays are upon us once again. When we sit and think about all that we have to be thankful for ... we think of our children and our families. As adults, it is also a time of hustle and bustle ... the Thanksgiving meal, Black Friday, Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza preparation.
During this Holiday season please be mindful of the needs of your children. For those just arriving home, please stay home. For those experiencing first Holidays, realize that all of these situations are very over-stimulating. Please try to limit the excessive gifts, events outside the home, and stay low key. Discuss with your child(ren) their memory of Holiday traditions, and try to incorporate them into your tradition. Remember, your children need YOU so please spend extra time understanding their needs during this Holiday season.
Have A Wonderful Thanksgiving With Your Family,
Deb
Thanks for everything you've done for our family, Deb! Katya's second Christmas home and Hunter's loving explaining all of our family traditions to her. Now that she's 3 and (finally) settled, she's pretty sure she's ready to take over the world! With a smile, a laugh, and only an occasional (although I wish rare!) tantrum :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post Barbara. I'm always happy to help in any way that I can. I'm glad to hear that things are going so well!
